THE 1st YANGON INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW

Grand Prix International, the renowned organizer of the Bangkok International Motor Show made a significant step further with launching the very first Yangon International Motor Show. The first international standard motor show in Myanmar has opened its door to public on 23 January at Yangon Convention Center.

The main goal of this unique and exciting event under the concept “Navigating the Automotive Industry of Tomorrow” is to promote development Myanmar’s automotive market. Myanmar automotive industry has seen drastic changes in the recent years and with the increasing interest from the general public and higher purchasing power, GPI and the Automotive Association of Myanmar together aim to enhance and support the growth and development of theautomotive industry in Myanmar.

The President of Yangon International Motor Show, Anothai Eamlumnowsaid “Our event will showcase latest vehicles from top automotive brands currently available in Myanmar along with latest design concepts, technologies and innovations currently shaping automotive markets across the world. We want to enhance and support the development of Myanmar automotive industry by offering first-hand experience of the global industry developments and latest exhibition trends. Beside impacting carmarket, our trade show will also help to leverage standards of the exhibition industry as it requires a lot of effort and craftsmanship skills to build a modern exhibition pavilion.

“We are confident that an International Standard Motor Show organized in Yangon will help to promote Myanmar and draw attention of global investors. In ASEAN, automotive industry is on the rise. Myanmar’s growing middle class and infrastructure development projects are also expected to create new market opportunities. The show represents a strong collaboration between GPI Myanmar Co., Ltd., Automotive Association of Myanmar and various Automotive Companies,”added U Aung Win, Chairman of Automotive Association of Myanmar (AAM).

The show has featured many international automotive brands, including BMW, Toyota, Suzuki, Ford, DFM, Scania, etc. 

The biggest attraction during the motor show was the all-new 2019 BMW X5 SUV unveiled by BMWMyanmar. Ford had on display the new Ranger, including the Raptor, Everest and Kuga. Toyota presented the RUSH crossover.

Visitors to the show could get first-hand experience of the latest carmodels, embrace technology and innovations and participate in many interesting activities and lucky draw.
