LAUNCH OF MALAYSIA 4X4 JAMBOREE 2012

4×4 Adventure Club Kuala Lumpur (ACKL) together with the newly setup 4×4 Adventure Club Malaysia (ACM) signed an agreement with Wenzhou Automobile & Motor Sports Association from China to promote 4×4 motor sports tourism in both countries and in the region.

Signing on behalf of ACM was Vice President, En. Abdullah Abu Bakar and signing for Wenzhou was President, Mr. Zou ZhouXuan. The ceremony was witnessed by Guest of Honour, Mdm. Chong Yoke Har, Deputy Director General of the Malaysia Tourism Board, Mr. Leong Bun Keong, President of ACKL and Mr. Hu JingKun, the Permanent Council Member of the Chinese Political Science Association. Also graced by Dato’ Sri Khalid Bin Abu Bakar, Deputy Inspector-General of Police, also the Patron of ACM, the event launched the Malaysia 4X4 Jamboree 2012, held in conjunction with ACKL’s 25^th Silver Jubilee anniversary.
Founded in 1987, ACKL has gone through a major makeover to celebrate its 25th anniversary with the resolution to expand the scope of 4X4 adventure motor sport in Malaysia. Following the collaboration with ACM and its China partner, Wenzhou, 4×4 adventure motor sports tourism in the region will sizzle with more excitements.
The 3-day Jamboree 2012 will, for the first time, see participants coming all the way from China. Thanks to the collaboration with Wenzhou, Wenzhou’s Car Fans Club will lead a convoy through an approximate 13-day journey to Malaysia and arrive here on the opening of Malaysia Jamboree 2012 on 15^th September. In this concerted effort to make Malaysia an ideal destination for 4×4 enthusiasts from China, Star Galaxy Travel & Vacation, with offices in Malaysia and China, has been appointed as the official travel agent while The Royale Chulan Hotel in the heart of Kuala Lumpur is the official hotel, offering 5-star hotel services to visiting guests.
Happening from 15th – 17th September this year in Sepang Offroad Circuit (adjacent to Sepang F1 Circuit), the Malaysia 4X4 Jamboree 2012 will introduce a series of competitions and recreational activities for 4X4 professionals and amateurs drivers as well as activities for the whole family.
The general public, especially families, can choose to set up their camp and experience the ultimate adrenaline rush by participating in various 4×4 related competition and activities including Extreme 4×4 Challenge, Standard 4×4 challenge, Motocross, ATV (all terrain vehicle) Challenge, Radio Control 4×4 and more. Participants can even vote for the Best Dressed 4×4 vehicle in a car pageant.
4X4 vehicle manufacturers and importers are invited to showcase their models and utilize the off-road track and highly technical obstacle course at the venue to showcase real off-road driving to potential owners.
With a variety of food stalls set up at the venue, participants can simply indulge. There will also be accessories booth and various children games and activities set up at the event. For once, the public can look forward to a different weekend with some adventures packed in.
