Nissan in Thailand introduced the new Nissan Navara CNG, a pick-up truck powered by Nissan’s first bi-fuel compressed natural gas engine.
Locally installed under Nissan manufacturing standard, the first-ever bi-fuel CNG engine offers high performance and improved fuel efficiency while being fully supported by Nissan’s standard warranty.
The new Navara CNG is powered by a QR25DE engine, which generates 154 horsepower at 5,200 rpm with a maximum torque of 242 Nm at 4,400 rpm. Engineered for advanced CNG operations, it includes technologies such as an advanced floating gas injection system to maximize the efficiency of gas consumption and an advanced electronic system to effectively control the injection of gas, minimizing the noise created through gas injection. The new Navara CNG will reduce running costs by two thirds compared to a conventional petrol engine.
The class-leading 140-liter CNG fuel tank is located on the bed, proven to have the highest tolerance from crash impact tests and severe weather conditions, providing both utility and safety to the heavy pick-up truck user.
“Nissan Navara has been long recognized for its reliability and performance. By adding this new CNG variant, we are providing customers with an even broader selection in one of the most competitive automobile segments here. I believe this vehicle will fulfill the needs of even more customers in Thailand,” said Takayuki Kimura, President of Nissan Motor (Thailand). “We recognize the need for CNG models here and plan to further expand the line up of alternative fuel vehicle to meet the strong market demand for CNG.”
The new Nissan Navara CNG is available in five colors for king cab (Silver Brilliant, White Pearl, Grayish Bronze, Black Star and Twilight Grey) and three for single cab (Silver Brilliant, White Solid and Grayish Bronze). Pricing for the Navara CNG ranges from 535,500 to 641,000 Baht.
